Another ACORN myth debunked

Posted in political by indiegoddess on October 14, 2008

I am too sick to even get out of bed, so I can’t come back with the name of the representative for ACORN that was interviewed on MSNBC this afternoon, but they did clarify for me that ACORN does not pay their workers per registration. They pay 8.00 per hour, and supposedly (i’ve heard) just request proof that the workers are actually putting in the time at work… So there is some weight to the registrations = paycheck argument but not explicitly and the correlation is nothing like I’d been lead to believe it was.

Meanwhile, we have people insisting we reinstitute some kind of poll tax, demanding that we begin “weighting votes” based on how much voters pay in income tax, and thousands of legal, registered voters quietly being stripped from the rolls in swing states.

Way to focus on the actual story “mainstream media.”
